Oct.18 gas line public forum to review fiscal options
The federal coordinator's office for an Alaska North Slope natural gas pipeline is sponsoring an Oct. 18 public forum in Anchorage (and streamed live on the web) to discuss the state's options for assisting in gas line development. The panelists will review potential fiscal options that could help in developing an out-of-state and an in-state line, and how the state could benefit from looking at the two projects as a package.
Panelists:
William Garner, senior counsel at Dewey & LeBoeuf in Houston
Gregg Erickson, longtime Alaska economist
Joe Dubler, Chief Financial Officer of the state-run Alaska Gasline Development Corp.
Moderator:
Larry Persily, Federal Coordinator, Alaska Natural Gas Transportation Projects
When:
5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18 (Alaska Time)
Location:
University of Alaska Anchorage Fine Arts Building Recital Hall (Room 150).
The forum will be streamed live on the web, with viewers able to click online and submit questions for the panelists. Forum information, including biographies of the speakers, their presentations, supplemental materials, access to the forum's live stream and a link to electronically submit questions during the forum will be available on the Federal Coordinator's website www.arcticgas.gov.
NOTE: The Office of the Federal Coordinator will distribute several informational papers at the forum and make them available on our website as supplemental material, including reports covering the proposed Alaska gas line projects, potential fiscal options for the state to assist with a pipeline, the federal loan guarantee available for the project, and a summary of the TransCanada/ExxonMobil large-volume pipeline project working toward an October 2012 application to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
