Mission
The Office of the Federal Coordinator (OFC) was established by Congress in 2004 to assist with “marketization” of abundant North Slope Alaskan natural gas supplies in the United States. The OFC was given the important role of coordinating the response of approximately 20 federal agencies to expedite bringing this crucial natural gas supply to domestic markets. The OFC also coordinates with the Canadian government, the State of Alaska, as well as private stakeholders. The OFC was delegated the authorities of the former Office of the Federal Inspector.
