Joseph M. Oglander

General Counsel

Joseph M. Oglander serves as the General Counsel to the Office of the Federal Coordinator for Alaska Natural Gas Transportation Projects (OFC). He has practiced law in Washington D.C. for more than twenty-five years, serving in the federal government and private practice on a wide range of environmental issues.

Prior to joining the OFC, Joe advised the Air Force on compliance with the NEPA for the stand up of new weapons systems and the reorganization of two major commands, water law, natural resources law and other federal environmental matters. Before working at the Air Force, he served at the Department of the Interior (DOI), which included the position of Assistant Solicitor for Water and Power from 1991-98. Joe advised the DOI on many energy projects, including the permitting of more than one hundred coal mines and the operation of dams and water projects throughout the western United States. He also practiced law with a private law firm in Washington D.C. where he advised municipal utilities, trade associations, and corporations engaged in the development and use of federal resources.

Joe graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1976 and Washington University School of Law in 1979.

Joe is married to Anne Schuyler and has two children, Laura and Andrew.
